About Alice

To be honest, when I was in elementary school I not only hated writing, but I was bad at it. I was pulled out of my typical class and placed into an IEP for reading comprehension, which essentially meant I needed to go back and relearn not only how to read but how to understand what I was reading. I struggled, a lot. However, after a discovery of the Warrior Books series, I miraculously became better. Over time I not only reached my peers level but eventually surpassed them. After finding my love of reading, I discovered my love of writing from my sister. My sister, who is known as Amelia Bedelia on FanFiction.com, gave me some of her own pieces to read. From that, I slowly encouraged myself to write on my own. Majority of my stuff ended up as a one chapter flop. However, as time went on, my writing, stories and motivation to continue to write a single novel did as well. Currently, I write novels with one of my close friends, Alexis.

I was born and raised in Iowa with both of my parents and two older siblings. I am the youngest sibling in my family. I attended a private college in Iowa majoring in Elementary Education with endorsements in Math and Middle School. Currently, I am a 6th-grade math teacher in Iowa. Some of you might wonder why picked Math and Middle School instead of focusing on literature or art in regards to education. It's simple: I consider them both to be a leisure activity that I love to do. If I do it all day with my students, I wouldn't want to do it in my free time after school!

Since this website focuses on my writing and photography,
I've written my inspirations for both below.

My photography didn't originally start off as photography. It actually started out as photoshopping various pictures that I came across of. That skill came in handy when I took my first photography class in high school. Except, with this photography class, we didn't use digital cameras. We used the old cameras which also included using the darkroom and chemicals. Yes, we went the whole mile. After I took the second class, which included digital cameras, I realized that I didn't want to finish with photo. I proceeded to be a Teacher's Assistant ("TA"). In fact, at one point, when a new teacher came in, I practically began teaching the teacher how to use the cameras!

...Talk about a love of photography.
